Our researchers - Dr Dimitris Lagos
Contributing to research themes:
Dimitris Lagos is a molecular immunologist. He is the Head of Experimental Medicine and Biomedicine at Hull York Medical School at the University of York. He studied Chemical Engineering in Athens and did his PhD on antibody engineering at the University of Sheffield and the University of Zurich. He then joined the Cancer Research UK Viral Oncology group at UCL, where he developed a strong interest in the molecular basis of immune responses to infection.
In 2011, he moved to the University of York where he has been leading a research programme on the role of regulatory RNAs in immune responses. His research focusses on how non-coding RNAs shape immunity and integrating RNA-based approaches to diagnostic and pathology pipelines.
